Lesson 50 : God’s Glory Shown to the Angels in our Churches  (3:10)

To what does this ‘hina’ purpose-clause refer?  –  The desired result: ‘that there might be made known’ to the heavenly powers  –  This is not referring to earthly powers  –  Are these evil angels, good angels or both?  –  These churches are organized assemblies of the Lord’s people  –  Each ecclesia pictures the eternal ecclesia to come  –  The existence of the ecclesia itself is God ‘making known’ His wisdom: it is not what we do but who we are!  –  Paul cannot here be referring to an universal-invisible church
