Lesson 42 : The Grace Given of the Revelation of the Mystery and Commission to Preach  (3:2-3)

Of what was Paul a steward?  –  What God gave was ‘grace’ not the ‘stewardship’  –  The ‘grace’ given to Paul was the revelation of the mystery (v. 3) and the commission to preach and teach that mystery (v. 8)  –  Paul’s self-sacrificing attitude for the Gentiles  –  The ‘mystery’ did not come to Paul by study  –  ‘Revelation’ defined  –  When did Paul receive this revelation?  –  Receiving direct revelation was one of the qualifications of an apostle  –  This teaches against a human pope  –  Paul’s position unique among the apostles because of the revelation from God
